This little gem is delicious. We stayed in the hotel around the corner and made this our morning breakfast spot every day. Everything we tried was excellent. The (I assume owner/s) were, as one review mentioned, a little lacking on customer smiles, but over time they grow on you and they are always professional. I was particularly enamored of a marble cherry muffin/cupcake that they offer. LOADS of cherries and melt in your mouth texture. So soft and moist. I don't care where I stay in San Fran next time, I'll go out of my way to get one of those next time I visit.

Off the beaten path. A little side street bakery with fresh made breads, croissants, pastries and more. Delicious!

My cousin and I treated ourselves to coffee and a nice gooey eclair from here on my last trip to SF. We sat outside at one of the little tables. Eclair fantastic, coffee very good and people watching two thumbs up.

Very delicious bakery stuff but the people are not friendly. Attention: No credit cards!

We have gone here many times. Great breads and sandwiches. We take macaroons back to the hotel to renew our selves after a day's walking.

We met the owner, who is an amazing person. He gave us a lot of tips on the city. One of the most beautiful encounter we did in San Francisco.

I've traveled to San Francisco for over 10 years, the owner, who is persian of nationality is a man of few words, but in that 10 year lapse his always treated me and my family in an excellent manner, pastries are brought fresh very day (I have seen him unload the boxes and boxes of pastries every morning), sandwiches are supreme in taste and ingredients, fresh every time, coffee is really good for not being a full sommelier of coffee myself, prices are fair, ambient and music are pristine for a morning grub. I will keep coming back every time I visit the bay, and until this day even if I miss a year, he still recognizes me and gives me a great service.

They do not take Credit cards! The service was less than stellar.

The bakery is a small lovely place with a wonderful display of the goodies. We had a couple desserts and a chocolate croissant. yum yum

This bakery only accepts cash :( I think that's a major drawback.Their pastry selections were appetizing. We ordered a bear claw, cherry pastry, ham 'n' cheese croissant. There were tons of options to satisfy the sweet tooth, but limited selections on the savory side. Would I say the bakery was warm and inviting? Not really. I actually did not get that warm fresh bread smell although there were plenty on display and to choose from. If you're looking for a quick fuel source before hopping on a trolley then definitely check it out.

Baguette was good but VERY EXPENSIVE. $4.75.. ouch!

My family and I were in San Fran in 2012. We happened to walk by Waterfront Bakery and bought a couple of sourdough baguettes. Without a doubt the best sourdough ever, very strong flavor. I was in Oakland recently and took a ferry over to San Fran specifically to buy some baguettes to bring back to Nashville. It was very much worth effort. No other sourdough matches this, not even Boudin.

Great sandwiches and pastries. No wait and great prices compared to competition.

Awesome banana pudding! The caramel coconut cupcake was delicious too! Glad the quality of the cakes has carried over from NYC!

Ham sandwich was good, great coffee. They were out of ice that day.

Bagel nicely and smelling good with crunchy. Music is really simular as Flamenco.Cheap and delicious with good quality for me.I really recommend here for my first meal in the day of the beginning.

Passing off day or two old pastries as fresh. They argued with me saying my stale, wet, chewy pastry was delivered fresh in the morning. Nope. They get leftovers from someplace.

CASH ONLY. There is no sign on the door or inside saying cash only, but it is. There is an ATM around the corner. The best thing about this shop is the atmosphere and decor. The pastries are not worth the money, but the coffee is decent. I got a chocolate croissant, it wasnt gross...but the chocolate was just a few unmelted chocolate chips in the pastry! Very disappointing. My boyfriend asked for some ice to cool down his coffee, and they refused to give him any.

Cash only! We visited here 2 years ago and loved it then. So back again and its still the best coffee around, no line up on Saturday mornings this is also great.

Nice hideaway

The banana pudding. Looks like a random collection of deserts thrown together in an unspecified order to create something that tastes amazing. It's a senses twister because it's not the most attractive of deserts but it really has incredible flavor. Cupcakes are pretty good too.

My favorite place for sourdough bread, there's something about it that gives it an edge that makes it an authentic San Francisco sourdough. Cheap prices and a nice selection of other things, highly recommend.

No credit card accepted, service is bad, they were like angry about I asked if they would accept credit cards or not.

Wonderful small bakery with a variety of bread and great service!

I was so excited that Magnolia's was coming to CA , but I have to say it's a bit overrated. Not my cup o tea. Too sweet for me. I prefer sprinkles cupcakes. But their not bad just not my thing. and over priced

Unfortunately we saw it last day of our trip to SF. Delicious bagels with cream cheese and coffees.

Cash only, great danishes and more. Love the danishes though :p
Bill Rolfes
looked good, nicely displayed. But stale, dry, tasteless. We carried out, so found out too late.
Jakob Weisblat
Really cozy little place, pastry I had was great.

Coffee: excellent / veggie sandwich: excellent!

OK I didn't try any of their desserts. I only went because a friend brought me a pint of their banana pudding, and I finished it right away and wanted more!!!! So I made an lame excuse to see family in CA & drove the two hours for MORE!!Yay!!!!!! It was good!!!

Warm bread right

Bat attitude, the guy after I order my espresso I tried to pay with my card and he said " we don't take plastic here " No sign nothing that says we don't accept cash. Bad experience. Not recommended
Matt Rasmussen
Excellent friendly, quiet spot with great pastries and coffee. Highly recommended!
Ashkan Haghshenas
They don’t care a customer is waiting to order.
Jacopo Libano
Honestly Just an average place. There are better places to have a breakfast. Bread is better than what you can find around but still not top quality. Bought a chocolate muffin and was bland and dry. 1 star because is hyped too much.
Nathan Dalbec
Great bread! Better made mocas then starbucks and cheaper! Just a wonderful place. Check it out.

Ordered a double espresso “for here†and got a huge dose of burnt dark roast in a paper cup. The coffee wasn’t drinkable, and I had to throw it away. They had no cold drinks, as they were “out of ice†on an 85-degree Friday.
